Air Fryer Potato Wedges are the perfect combination of crunchy, golden exteriors and soft, fluffy interiors!
If you’ve got an air fryer hiding in the cupboard and you’ve never cooked wedges in it before, then you’re in for a treat.
You’ll love these babies — they are super yummy! Only a few ingredients and 15 mins cooking and you’re in business.
Why Use an Air Fryer?
We’ve only just started using an air fryer but are totally amazed at how quickly it cooks especially the potato wedges.
Friends would often comment saying “you have to go get one. They are amazing!”.
But until we had one we didn’t appreciate how convenient is was. We were so used to frying everything that this has become a new learning experience but feel it’s a healthier option especially if you would like to reduce the amount of fat you consume.
We still have our training wheels on at the moment but have to say we nailed the wedges pretty quickly.
What You’ll Need
Nothing too fancy only potatoes and 4 other ingredients. Simples!
Potatoes – for this recipe we used the red potatoes but we’ve also made wedges with washed potatoes too. Russet potatoes are preferred if you can get your hands on them.
Olive oil – just enough to mix with the spices and create a sticky coating to give it that gorgeous bronze colour.
Paprika – the sweet paprika is just lovely. Not to strong and the kids will love it plus gives a gorgeous BBQ look too.
Onion Flakes – just the right amount of flavour without adding too much saltiness.
Salt – what wedges would be ok without a little salt. Choose the amount you like to mix in with the other seasonings. 1 teaspoon is plenty but it’s entirely up to your taste. (you can always add more afterwards).

For this recipe we’ve cut each of the potatoes into 6 wedges.
Try to cut the wedges into roughly equal sizes. This helps to make sure that they all cook evenly.
How To Cook Your Potato Wedges?
Mix the wedges with the olive oil and seasoning and pop into the air fryer.
To allow the air to flow through the air fryer, you should avoid overcrowding the basket. Keep the wedges slightly separated.
These potato wedges should be perfectly crispy after about 10 minutes. I check the wedges and they usually need an additional 5 mins to give that extra colour and to make sure they are cooked through.
Just keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.

Are Air Fryer Potatoes Crispy?
Absolutely! They are crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside.
Do You Need to Pre-Soak Your Wedges?
You don’t need to pre-soak the potato wedges when making this recipe in your air fryer.
If you have time, try soaking the potatoes in cold water for about 30 minutes before seasoning and “frying,” as this could give you even better crispier results.
When soaking it can remove starch from the potatoes that helps with making them crispier.
