So, in our quest to detoxify our lives as much as we can we have been using Andrea’s natural deodorant for quite a while now to help with my smelly armpits.

This has been working extremely well, so good in fact I use it on my knees under my kneepads for work…..and let me tell you those things hum in summer. Being made from neoprene they soak up the sweat and after a few days even I couldn’t handle the smell, these things would almost walk on their own.

So I thought I’d try my natural deodorant from BABS Bodycare a crack and to my surprise (and my wife’s nose), no smelly knees anymore.

Back to the Smelly Armpits

Anyway, I noticed coming into the warmer months I was beginning to pong under my armpits to the point of using the old “toxic” deodorant, I had to do something.

I got in touch with Andrea, and she explained that my pits were probably in need of a detox from bacteria and told me to wash them with ACV (apple cider vinegar), so this got me thinking.

I had some colloidal silver on hand and thought this stuff is highly effective in killing bacteria so the ever tinkering me decides to do a bit of a test.

After around 2 days of saturating my smelly pits with CS then scrubbing with a washer, I noticed the “BO” was basically gone.

3 weeks into my experiment and Sony can’t quite believe how well it works. I’m still using Andres’s amazing Natural Deodorants but every now and then I give my smelly armpits a good scrub with colloidal silver, for those extra smelly days.

What Did I Do?

It’s easy peasy to do and takes no time at all. After a shower instead of using deodorant I spray enough CS to saturate my armpits, then scrub with a washer.

I do this twice a day, morning and night and then give 1 or 2 sprays and leave that on.

Before leaving the house, I rub a bit of Andie’s natural deodorant on just to keep me smelling like a rose…..haha.

So What is Colloidal Silver?

Colloidal Silver is the suspension of silver particles in water and is said to have anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties (among many other amazing benefits).

Typical CS available for purchase is usually sold in strengths between 10 parts per million and 20ppm. Just watch out for the minefield of information telling of the negatives of CS rather than the positives (aka, turning blue), I’m sure it’s possible but it’s also extremely rare.

If you get a CS brewer you can make it at home for around a couple of bucks per litre, pretty much the cost of purchasing the distilled water to brew in. Get yourself a water distiller and that comes down to a few cents per litre.

Anyway, it is known to kill bacteria so that’s a good thing.

What Else Can CS be Used For?

Colloidal silver has many uses including but not limited to what I have tried (and had no ill effects from). These include helping to settle Styes (the best thing though is a gold ring, seriously).

Cuts and abrasions

When cuts and abrasions start to become infected I’ve applied CS to them and it clears things up within 24 hours on most occasions. Sometimes takes a bit longer but you tend to know your own body after many years so can gauge the healing process.

Sinus infections

Having suffered from sinus infections for many years having to use a saline rinse is a common thing. Sometimes it requires a bit more of a nudge and I’ve found that using 4-5 drops of Johnsons Baby Shampoo is a game changer that helps to lubricate that hard to get sludge stuck in the back of the sinuses.

Often times I end up putting around 2 tablespoons of CS in my rinse bottle as well for a few days to settle things down and I have to say it does help a lot.

Other Uses for CS

Other uses include making up a colloidal silver spray for wiping down your kitchen benches and even shower screens, I haven’t tried those as yet but it does seem to make sense being anti-bacterial.

So that’s just a quick heads up for now and the smelly armpits thing was too good not to share, give it a crack if you’re a bit on the pongy side and let us know how you go. You will know in a week if it works for you.

Talk soon.
