These energy, protean bites are quick and easy to make with a lovely banana flavour. With the addition of maple syrup these Bananas Oat Bites can be made sweeter to suit your taste. Omit the maple syrup if you like. Try the recipe after combining all the ingredients to see if you need to add more or less maple syrup.

  • 1 banana mashed
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup pecans
  • ½ cup dates
  • ¼ cup almond butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup more if desired
  • 2 tbsp protein powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoon water if needed

  1. Blitz the rolled oats till lovely and fine. Set aside.
  2. Then do the pecans separately, then the dates till soft and pliable and lastly mash the banana.

  3. Place back into the food processor with the almond butter, cinnamon, maple syrup, protein powder and mashed banana.

  4. Blend to a pliable consistency. If needed add more maple syrup to taste and water if you feel the mixture is too dry.
  5. Roll into balls and pop into the refrigerator till firm.
  6. These protein bliss balls may not set hard, but will be firm enough to hold their shape well.

  7. As a treat drizzle melted white chocolate on top to make them a little more decadent.
